We had booked the room in advance through an agent and had to pay the price. Yes- the room for which we paid, was not that comfortable, and a bit shabby. Just a bit! Cheers for the location as it is located at the centre of the city, just next to the Orland Park Square. The transport facilities are very easy to reach from this hotel. The food that we ate in our 3 days stay at Casa Margarita’s restaurant was amazingly tasty. Featured with plates of fajitas, authentic Mexican cooking, gobs of guacamole, and lots of appetizers and desserts, this restaurant is for all those who consider themselves to be “foodies”. My wife and I tasted some of the traditional Mexican food dishes and some other world famous recepies including botanas, ensalada, mariscos, pollo, carne, enchiladas and others. They were simply yummy enough to fill-in our tummy!
Located just at the middle of San Cristobal’s main street, the hotel I would say is a true worth for what you pay, if you are happy enough with the rooms as they are. Yes the rooms are a bit costly as compared to the features offered within, Yes they are not as clean and tidy as you would like to have. It’s like a hostel kind of rooms, but clean ones! If you are planning to roam a lot and visit your room just for the sake of some time for rest, the hotel will suit you, as it did for us. Try not to book the rooms in this hotel from any agent, instead get them booked directly from the hotel staff- This might give you certain discounts! As far as the sights around, it is pretty nice with beautiful buildings and courtyard around to chill out in the evening. In short- the rooms are just basic! The staff was nice and gave us a warm welcome, lifted our bags to the rooms and also educated us about certain favourite places to visit around.
After 3 days, we wished to move ahead as soon as possible, as the atmosphere around got a bit crowdie, a bit noisy. Inside the room we received not so fast working internet facility, TV, nice pillow, clean beds, and basic amenities. The room size, i thought was smaller than what we paid for. The place is safe but a bit noisy even at night, with music and stuff being played around. Casa Margarita is a perfect place to be for its location and its food, but not very much worth for the rooms. Yes, the staff was polite and helpful.
